Understand a court order

Paste the text of an order, or upload the PDF you were served. You get a plain-English summary, a checklist of what the order tells a party to do, and every date the document itself states — each one with the document's own words beside it so you can check it against your paper copy.

This tool reads your document. It does not apply New Jersey court rules, it does not calculate deadlines, and it does not give legal advice. If the order states a period such as “within 20 days” and no calendar date, no date is calculated for you.

Include the whole order: the caption, every numbered paragraph, and the dated signature line.
